About Chain188

Chain188 is a small data desk that keeps one page per crypto exchange: the volume it reports, the fees it publishes, the markets it lists and the access rules that decide whether you can use it at all.

We started because the alternative was a comparison site where the order of the table was for sale. Ours is ordered by reported volume, and the date of the last check sits next to every number.

How the desk works

One person maintains the data, one writes the analysis, and both are allowed to say that a number is unreliable. When a venue reports volume that looks impossible, we print the number and say so rather than silently smoothing it.
